Golf Fixtures & Special Events
Saturday 13th September – Haldane Trophy
2-Person Team Combined Stableford Competition
This popular team format competition returns for another year. Partner up with a fellow member and combine your stableford points for a chance to claim the prestigious Haldane Trophy. It’s a great opportunity for players of all handicaps to compete together.
- Format: 2-person team combined stableford
- Booking: Now live via HowDidiDo
- Note: This event typically fills up quickly, so early booking is recommended
Friday 19th September – Wine Tasting Evening
Celebrating Our New Wine Partnership
Join us for an elegant evening as we introduce our new wine partnership with an expert-led tasting session. Our sommelier will guide you through a carefully curated selection of wines, sharing insights into their origins, tasting notes, and perfect food pairings.
- Venue: Club lounge (intimate, relaxed setting)
- What’s included: Professional wine tasting with expert guidance
- Booking: Recommended due to limited spaces
- Special Offer: Following the event, all members will enjoy exclusive discounts on wines at the bar for one full month
Saturday 20th September – Double Feature Day
Sponsors’ Day: Texas Scramble
Our annual celebration of the businesses and individuals who support Elderslie Golf Club. This Texas Scramble format ensures a fun, social round where every team member contributes to the success.
- Format: Texas Scramble
- Start: 2-tee start from 1:00pm
- Evening: Buffet dinner and prizegiving ceremony
- Attendees: Invited sponsor teams (RSVP via club office)
September Medal (Members)
Running alongside our Sponsors’ Day, club members can compete for the September Medal in this individual strokeplay competition.
- Booking opens: Sunday 14th September at 19:15 via HowDidiDo
- Tip: Enter early to secure your preferred tee time as slots fill quickly
Sunday 21st September – Johnstone Burgh Golf Day
A Community Partnership Celebration
One of the highlights of our events calendar returns! This special day brings together our golfing community with local football heritage as we welcome Johnstone Burgh FC to the club.
- Format: Shotgun start at 12:30pm
- Special guests: Meet the Johnstone Burgh FC players and coaching staff
- Includes: Main meal and prizegiving after play
- Open to: All members (playing or social attendance)
- Limited availability: Contact the club office to secure your place
For regular play: Members wishing to play outside the event can book tee times from 07:00-08:30am. We also have reciprocal and courtesy arrangements at other local courses – please contact us to arrange alternative golf if needed.
Friday 26th – Sunday 28th September – Ryder Cup Weekend
Live Coverage & Club Atmosphere
Experience the drama of professional golf’s greatest team competition right here in our clubhouse. We’ll be screening all the action live with themed food, drinks, and that electric Ryder Cup atmosphere.

Team Competition During Ryder Cup Weekend
Add to the team spirit of Ryder Cup weekend with our own team format competition. This popular event combines competitive golf with the excitement of the professional tournament.

Sunday 28th September – Elderslie Ryder Cup
Our Signature Team Event
The month’s grand finale! Our own version of golf’s greatest team competition, where club members are randomly divided into Team Europe and Team USA for a day of spirited competition and camaraderie.
- Format: Shotgun start, Fourball Better Ball
- Teams: Randomly drawn – Europe vs USA
- Includes: Buffet lunch after play
- Clubhouse finale: Watch the actual Ryder Cup Sunday singles live together
- Welcome: Families and social members encouraged to join
- Booking required: Advance booking essential for both golf participation and catering
