The Golf Season Begins

April 5, 2025

A wide view of a golf course under a bright blue sky with scattered clouds. The fairway and green are well-maintained with a red flag marking the hole in the distance. Trees line the background, some leafless, suggesting early spring or late fall. The landscape is gently rolling, with light shadows from the sun.

It’s a warm welcome to the new golf season at Elderslie Golf Club as we get underway this weekend with the Wallace Cup.

In the last few months, the club has experienced some highs and lows. In January, Storm Γ‰owyn left its mark when the beech tree beside the 17th green came down, dramatically changing the hole. Thanks to the hard work of our greens staff and volunteers, the debris was quickly cleared, and the course was made playable once again.

On a brighter note, we’ve enjoyed some fantastic weather recently β€” and with more on the way, it’s a great time to get back out on the course.

The Pro Shop is now back in its usual space after a brief move to the golf lounge. With a new layout, Scott and Alasdair are ready to help with everything you need for the season ahead.

Progress on the new clubhouse balcony is going well, and in just a couple of months, we hope to enjoy post-round refreshments outside as part of the wider clubhouse refurbishment.

Whether you’re competing in the Wallace Cup today or just enjoying a casual round with friends, we wish all our members a brilliant start to what promises to be another great season of golf.

All the best for the playing season from the committee.
